My name is Meredith Chase. I am a mom to five children – three living and two angels – and am the proud wife to a wonderful husband. I love photography, food, marketing, and, most important, the Lord.
Working full-time and being the best mom and wife you can be has its challenges. Thankfully my husband is the best dad, my partner in business, and makes up for my weaknesses.
Our journey as a family has been filled with laughter, fun, love, and blessings… then there has been some grief and pain along the way. My full and complete trust in God has wavered at times when things haven’t quite gone my way. However, my faith in Him always remains, because I know that he has a plan for my life and family.
Andrew James Chase is our fourth child to be born. His due date was October 8, 2017, but he was born at 27 weeks on July 10, 2017 weighing 1 lb. 12 oz. He was born with Down Syndrome, an AV canal heart defect, and fetal hydrops. He spent 4 1/2 days in the NICU at Cook Children’s Hospital where he fought for his life. Andrew had the most amazing doctors who did everything they could for him. However, we know that the Lord is the great physician and healer but doesn’t always heal in the ways that we desire. Our precious baby boy went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 14, 2017 at 11:41 pm.
Charley Ira Chase is our fifth child and our surprise rainbow baby. His due date was November 23, 2019. At 17 weeks an ultrasound showed no heartbeat. Charley delivered on June 20, 2019 but had already joined his brother, Andrew, in Heaven.
The name “Peace in the Waiting” comes from our experience during very difficult times. The truth is that God is in control. We have to be patient and wait for His perfect will and power to be displayed through our trials. This journey has been a daily struggle with new challenges around every corner but God’s word tells us “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV) We are fervently praying for God’s peace to wash over our family as we mourn the loss of our beautiful boys, Andrew James and Charley Ira!
